A little more about me....

Growing up, I was never into fitness or exercise, in fact I thought it was dumb.  I mean who would want to get all sweaty?  What was the point?  You’re never going to look like those people in the infomercials.  Seemed kinda pointless to me.  Since I had always stayed in the same 10lb range I brushed it off and instead of being healthy or worried about my appearance, I enjoyed myself - ate what I wanted, when I wanted.  Life was good.

Fast forward, two kids later and no energy or much motivation to change.  Miserable. Depressed. BLEH.  October 1, 2010 was the day I decided to end all that.  I got off my behind and did an express Zumba video.  20 mins and I was sweating bullets and gasping for air (sad I know).  From that day on though, I mad a commitment to myself to work out 3 days a week.  I didn’t diet or anything but in 3 months I lost 15lbs.  January 2011, I changed my diet and decided to up the intensity and started working out 5 days a week.

Since then it’s become a bit of an obsession, I now dedicate a very large chunk of my day to reading up on, watching videos of or actually doing anything related to health and fitness.  I won’t say that I LOVE working out (who does??) but I do love the way I feel afterwards, I love knowing that I pushed myself and am working hard to make my body change the way I want it to.  I still have a way to go but I am proud of myself which is a rare thing indeed.  Fitness is contagious, once you start you really can’t stop.
